As an additive to Portland cements (OPC), ISTRA calcium aluminate cements accelerate the start of setting and early strength development. ISTRA calcium aluminate cements are therefore used for production of rapid hardening anchoring or repair mortars with high early strength or for production of cement-bound fiber boards. By mixing in further additives, properties such as the flow characteristics, water retention, adhesion or shrinkage can all be optimized in a targeted way. ISTRA calcium aluminate cements can bind more water then Portland cements and also set faster.
Using ISTRA calcium aluminate cements therefore enables you to control both the hydration process and the time required for setting. Floors which have been produced or repaired using mixtures containing ISTRA calcium aluminate cement can be put into use quickly.
